The Midwest Assembly, the fourth meeting in The American Assembly's ambitious multi-year Next Generation Project and the first in the project's second stage, will take place at Wieboldt Hall, Northwestern University, on October 18-20, 2007. The Assembly is co-sponsored with the Roberta Buffett Center for International and Comparative Studies at Northwestern University, led by Andrew Baruch Wachtel.
Over two and a half days, the Next Generation Project Fellows' discussions will lay the groundwork to assess whether the current national security, multilateral, and international institutions are sufficient to meet the challenges of the future and explore innovative organizational responses to an era of rapid globalization. Perhaps most importantly, fellows with a wide range of perspectives will discuss these complex questions in a productive, respectful, and creative manner.
